Chitradurga: Four of a family including 8-yo child, killed in tragic car-lorry collision

Chitradurga: Four persons of a family died and 3 others were injured in a horrible crash between a lorry and a car on National Highway 50 near Mallapur flyover on the outskirts of the city on Saturday night.

The deceased have been identified as Sanganapasappa (36), his wife Rekha (29), their son Agastya (8), and their relative Bhima Shankar (26).

Three persons –Sangana Basappa’s children Anvita(6) and Adarsh (4), and a 26-year-old unidentified person — were injured in the accident and are being treated at the Chitradugra Government Hospital.

All deceased and the injured are residents of Vijayapura. It is gathered that the families of Sangana Basappa and his relative Eeranna started their trip to Chikkamagaluru in 2 vehicles at around 11 pm on Saturday. Eeranna’s family was in another car.

District Superintendent of Police K Parashuram said that the car hit the lorry from behind. The lorry was on its way from Hospet to Bengaluru.
