Chitradurga: Police Officer commits suicide by hanging

Chitradurga: An assistant sub-inspector (ASI) attached to the Nayakanahatti Police station committed suicide by hanging himself on Saturday night in taluk’s Dandina Kurubarahatti.

The deceased was identified as Gurumurthy (50). His body was found in the outskirts of the city.

Police said that he had returned from duty of Hindu Maha Sabha’s Ganeshotsav Maha visarjan procession without any problems.

A case has been registered in Chitradurga Rural Police station. Police officers visited the spot and started investigation.
