The Kamakshipalya police, investigating the Renukaswamy murder case, have submitted a supplementary chargesheet of 1,300 pages against actor Darshan and others to the court on Saturday. This follows the initial chargesheet of 4,000 pages already filed in the case.
The new chargesheet includes eight photographs reportedly taken inside the Patnagere shed, where the crime allegedly occurred. These photographs, featuring Darshan with his associates, have been added as evidence, countering earlier claims by the actor’s legal team that he was not present at the location during the incident.
Key Developments in the Case
1. Photographic Evidence:
– Eight photographs taken at the shed, where Renukaswamy was murdered, have been retrieved. These photos allegedly show Darshan and his associates present at the scene.
– The photographs were initially clicked by Puneeth, one of the witnesses, and shared via WhatsApp. However, attempts were made to delete them after the crime came to light. Police later retrieved the images from Puneeth’s mobile device.
2. Technical and Witness Evidence:
– The supplementary chargesheet lists over 40 pieces of evidence, including technical documents and statements from more than 35 witnesses.
– Medical reports confirm Renukaswamy’s time of death between 6 PM and 8 PM on June 8, coinciding with the period Darshan and his associates were allegedly at the shed.
– Sources reveal that after the attack on Renukaswamy, Darshan and his associates posed for photos before leaving the crime scene. The photos were allegedly taken at the request of co-accused Raghavendra and captured by Puneeth using his mobile phone.
In a separate development, the High Court has postponed the hearing on Darshan’s bail plea to November 26. Legal experts speculate that the new chargesheet could further delay the proceedings, adding to the actor’s legal troubles.
The additional evidence and extended investigation are likely to impact the course of the trial significantly. The case continues to unfold with Darshan and his associates under heightened scrutiny.
