Chitradurga: Truck driver’s head severed in horrific accident

Chitradurga: The head of a truck driver severed from his body in a fatal accident on the national highway at Budnahatti near Challakere early on Saturday.

A head-on collision occurred between two trucks. One was carrying cement coming from Bellary and the other, loaded with tamarind, was moving towards Bellary.

The deceased driver, who was driving the cement-loaded truck, has been identified as Jagadeesha (28), from Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh.

The driver of the tamarind-laden truck, Arokyaswamy (55) from Tamil Nadu, sustained injuries to both his legs and was admitted to a hospital in Challakere.

A case was registered at Challakere police station.
