Mangaluru/New Delhi: Refering to the December 19 incident at Mangaluru, BJP MP Rajeev Chandrasekhar on Wednesday said that perhaps this explains the restraint execriced by Delhi police while dealing with the protesters.
As many as 32 people died and several injured following the clashes over citizenship law. Public as well as opposition parties criticised Delhi police for inadequate action as violence escalated since Sunday.
“Delhi violence is pre-medidated n needs a tough response. It is exactly what Mangaluru experienced on Dec19 2019. Police there responded firmly but now being hounded by PILs n courts. That may explain why @DelhiPolice is being tentative,” tweeted Chandrasekhar.
