City adorned for Mangaluru Dasara

Mangaluru: The Navaratri celebrations will begin from today at all the temples in the city including the Mangaladevi temple. The city also has been adorned to celebrate the Navaratri festival from today.  In the backdrop of the ‘Mangaluru Dasara’ being organized by the Kudroli Gokarnanatheshwara temple, the Smart City has been adorned with lights.

Special preference for Cleanliness

Decorative lightings have been installed on either sides of the road along which the procession will go. The road dividers along this route have also been painted freshly. The Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) building and most other building along the Dasara procession route have been painted. A special preference has been given for cleanliness.

Darbar Mantapa ready

In the backdrop of Mangaluru Dasara, the Darbar Mantapa has been made ready at Kudroli Gokarnanatheshwara temple for the worship of Ganpati, Nava Durga and Shraddha. The entire temple has been illuminated with decorative lights and its glory catches everyone’s gaze.  

Inauguration by CM

The Navaratri celebrations will take place at Kudroli Gokarnanatheshwara temple from October 10th to 20th and has been inaugurated by Mahabaleshwara M S, managing director of Karnataka Bank today. The Mangaluru Dasara will be inaugurated at 6 p.m. on October 14th by the Chief Minister, H D Kumaraswamy.

As part of the Dasara festival, daily there will be religious programmes, cultural programmes in the evening and ‘Annadanam’ will be conducted. On Oct 17th there will be ‘Chandrika Homa’ and on Oct 18th there will be ‘Maha Annadanam’. On Oct 19th, the procession will begin at 4 pm in the evening.
