CK Suresh from Mahalakshmi Layout, Bengaluru filed a complaint at the Mahalakshmi Layout police station against the accused, Shiva, Shivakumaraswamy, Shrinivas, and others involved.
According to the complaint, the perpetrators lured Suresh into exchanging Rs 2000 notes for Rs 500 denomination currency. Believing in their promise, the contractor paid Rs 25 lakh worth of notes.
Thereafter, the accused convinced Suresh to travel to various locations, including Tirupati and Bengaluru for receiving the exchanged notes. Each time he was told to wait at specific spots, but nobody showed up. Eventually, Suresh realized he had been cheated and filed a formal report with the police.
Police have transferred the case to the CCB department for further investigation.
