A dispute between rickshaw drivers and train passengers took place at Mangaluru ‘s Central Railway Station.

The incident took place when a couple, arriving from Chennai at 7:30 am on Wednesday, was to be picked up by two locals on a two-wheeler. However, conflicts arose over parking regulations, stipulating designated spaces for parking and limiting pickup and drop-offs to the front gate without extended waiting periods.

An altercation initially broke out between the parking attendant, Chandan, and the two individuals who had come to pick up the couple.
Subsequently, auto-rickshaw drivers intervened in support of Chandan, escalating the disagreement into a physical confrontation.

Authorities are in the process of verifying the identities of both the auto driver and the passengers involved. The Commissioner of Police assured the that appropriate action would be taken based on a thorough examination of all available facts concerning the incident.
