Class 4 student sexually assaulted in Bantwal; three held

Bantwal: The Bantwal police, on Wednesday night, arrested three persons for outraging the modesty of a Class 4 girl student in Goodinabali near Panemangaluru taluk.

The arrested are identified as Shekabba (65), Ambari alias Razak (35) and Nawaz (22), all residents of Goodinabali here.

The victim who had come to her grandmothers’ house was playing with other kids when she was singled out, taken to a secluded place and sexually assaulted.

The matter came to light when her family after noticing several changes in her body took her to the hospital for a check-up. 

Irate locals who came to know of the incident are said to have stoned the house of the accused and even gheraoed the Bantwal police station on Wednesday night and demanded that strict action be taken against the accused.
