Chief Minister, Basavaraj Bommai on Monday spoke out against Shettar’s actions, stating that they were not in line with the party’s values.
He said, “Jagdish Shettar had been in the company of respectable individuals for a long time, but he has now aligned himself with those perceived as unfavorable. Basavanna had previously advised against associating with such people. It should be noted that I am not portraying Shettar as a victim.”
Bommai made these comments while speaking to reporters and expressed confidence that the BJP would win a complete majority in the upcoming state elections. He also assured that Shettar’s resignation would not cause any problems for the party as they were a worker-based organization.
The upcoming election in the Varuna constituency is said to be highly contested, with the BJP fielding leaders like Somanna and receiving support from state and national level leaders.
The dates for Prime Minister Modi’s election campaign are yet to be finalized and will be decided after the nomination process.
