Belagavi: Responding for the first time to the CD case Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Tuesday, said that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) was conducting an impartial investigation.
Speaking to reporters here he said that the police are investigating the case within the legal framework, however, Congress is maliciously playing politics with it.
Responding to opposition leader Siddaramaiah questioning the chief minister’s silence, Yediyurappa said, “I receive updates on the case from the Home Minister every day. Everything is done as per the laws. A person such as Siddaramaiah who was in a position of responsibility must speak accordingly.”
“Ramesh Jarkiholi will come out as innocent in this case. I have told him to participate in the by-election campaigning,” the chief minister added.
He also expressed confidence that BJP’s candidate Mangala Angadi will win the by-election with a margin of over 2 lakh votes.
