Bengaluru: A special Lokayukta court on Monday discharged CM H D Kumaraswamy in the Arkavathy Layout denotification case.

Kumaraswamy had petitioned the court to quash the inquiry against him in the case.

The Lokayukta police had filed the chargesheet in the case of alleged illegal denotification of land in Thanisandra. The court also discharged three others named as accused in the case. Other discharged include retired IAS officer K Jothiramalingam and two others Sriram and Raviprakash.

Hasmath Pasha, senior advocate who represented HDK, clarified saying, “CM Kumaraswamy has been discharged  before the trial itself, as there is no sufficient material.”
