Bengaluru: After the news of a woman constable, who breastfed an abandoned infant to spare it from starvation, became famous online, Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy wants to meet the benevolent government employee.
Kumaraswamy expressed in a tweet on June 6 that he had perused a media report about Archana D S, the woman constable, and was moved by her great deed and wanted to meet and honor her.
Remarking on the news of the CM’s longing to meet her, Archana said that she was astounded that her little act has attracted a lot of attention.”I have no words to offer my thanks to the people who have shown love. I was excited and nervous to hear that he (the Chief Minister) wants to meet me”, she said including that what she did was a little act of humankind. “It stunned me to see an abandoned infant and I breast fed the infant like I have done for my own,” she clarified. She is the mother of a three-month-old child.
Archana D S, a constable of the Electronic City Police Station, breast fed the abandoned infant after it was conveyed to the station. A shop keeper had educated the police headquarters of the baby that had been found by a rag picker at Celebrity Layout in Doddathoguru, stuffed in a plastic bag and left under a bush near a house which was under construction.
