New Delhi/Bengaluru: To evade any feedback over circulation of party tickets for the upcoming Assembly elections, the Congress high command has requested that its Karnataka leaders finalize the list of candidates themselves and send it to New Delhi only for a formal approval.

The Congress initiative has revealed to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president G Parameshwara to settle tickets for every one of the seats in meeting with AICC general secretary accountable for Karnataka K C Venugopal and screening committee chairman Madhusudhan Mistry.

A party leader said “The state unit has been advised to send one name for every Assembly section and the high command will affirm it,” , including that “whatever the disagreement about the distribution of tickets, it should to be resolved at the state level itself.”

In spite of the fact that in excess of 1,000 applicants have connected for tickets in 224 constiuency, all the sitting Congress administrators and MLAs who relocated from different parties are probably going to get the ticket. For the remaining seats, around 90, Siddaramaiah and Parameshwara will settle the competitors, including children of some senior party leaders, said the party leader.

The screening committee, headed by Mistry, will have a meeting in New Delhi on April 9 and 10 and send the list for the approval  for the Central Election Committee (CEC) of the party. The CEC is probably going to meet on April 11 or 12 to give its final approval. In spite of the fact that April 24 is the last date for filing nomination, the greater part of the tickets will be finalized in second week of April. Possibility for the rest of the seats might be declared in third week, he said.
