Belagavi: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah asserted on Wednesday that he has fulfilled his promise to Laxman Savadi by allocating the significant lift irrigation project, worth Rs 1,500 crores in Belagavi’s Athani taluk.

During the inauguration of the Ammajeshwari Lift Irrigation Project at Kottalgi in Athani taluk, the Chief Minister criticized both the current central government and the previous BJP state government for not supporting irrigation projects in Karnataka.

Siddaramaiah highlighted the lack of cooperation from the central government on various crucial irrigation projects like Upper Krishna, Mahadayi, Upper Bhadra, and Mekedatu.

He urged the public to vote according to their conscience, emphasizing the support provided by his government in addressing family difficulties. “Do you want us, who are supporting your life and providing programs that respond to family difficulties? Or do you want the BJP, which is cheating you by exploiting your feelings in the name of God? Listen to your heart. Vote for whoever your heart tells you to,” Siddaramaih appealed.

The Chief Minister criticized the BJP for opposing these initiatives and accused them of insulting millions of beneficiaries across the country. “We have increased the purchasing power of the poor and middle class of the country. But BJP is opposing this. BJP is insulting four and a half crore beneficiaries of the state. Don’t forgive those who insult you,” he said.

Siddaramaiah also expressed optimism about Lakshmana Savadi’s future prospects.
