CM Siddaramaiah’s corruption has been exposed: R. Ashoka

Bengaluru: BJP’s Leader of Opposition in the Karnataka Assembly, R. Ashoka, asserted that the BJP’s relentless opposition has successfully branded Chief Minister Siddaramaiah as “corrupt” in the minds of the public. Speaking at a discussion marking one year of his tenure as the Leader of the Opposition, Ashoka stated, “Through our efforts, the people now see Siddaramaiah as a corrupt leader, evidenced by the court-registered case against him under IPC Section 420 in the MUDA scam.”

He claimed that the BJP’s opposition had created a political situation unlike any Siddaramaiah has faced before. “He once declared his political life spotless, but our fight has exposed the truth,” said Ashoka, adding that Siddaramaiah will soon have no option but to resign in the face of mounting allegations.

Nagendra’s Resignation, Siddaramaiah’s Next:

Ashoka highlighted the resignation of Minister B. Nagendra as a victory for the BJP’s consistent protests. “In just one year, we brought down Nagendra. Siddaramaiah’s wicket is next. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) will independently investigate this case, and he will have to resign,” he added.

Rebuttal to CM’s Claims:

Responding to Siddaramaiah’s frequent criticisms of the BJP as purveyors of lies, Ashoka countered, “If he is truthful, why did he return the MUDA site worth Rs 64 crore? Why accept Nagendra’s resignation? His actions show guilt.”

Preparations for Belagavi Assembly Session:

Ashoka revealed that the BJP, in collaboration with JD(S) MLAs, is strategizing for the upcoming Belagavi session to corner the Congress government. “The by-election results of three constituencies will also be announced by then, and Congress will face a definite setback,” he claimed.

COVID-Era Criticism:

Ashoka also accused Siddaramaiah of staying inactive during the COVID-19 pandemic. “He was too scared to step out of his house. If not for the BJP’s MUDA protest, Congress would have remained silent on the issue,” he added.

Internal BJP Issues:

Acknowledging minor internal differences within the BJP, Ashoka downplayed their significance. “In a democratic party, such challenges are natural. We are addressing them through discussions with central leaders,” he assured.

JDS Alliance and Caste Dynamics:

Ashoka dismissed concerns about the BJP-JD(S) alliance disrupting Vokkaliga leadership. “Both parties share a strong understanding, and there’s no issue within the community. Kumaraswamy is a prominent Vokkaliga leader, and I am proud to be born into the same community. However, we stand as a unified Hindu brand,” he concluded.
