Mangaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy has cancelled his scheduled trip to Mangaluru, to inaugurate the renovated Manjusha Museum at Dharmasthala owing to health-related issues.
It is gathered that Kumaraswamy is suffering from stomach-ache since Wednesday morning and hence decided to skip the inaugural function scheduled today (October 24) at around 3 pm. According to sources in the temple, there would be no change in the inaugural programme due to this development.
Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr D Veerendra Heggade, during a press meet held on Tuesday, October 23 said that the Chief Minister would inaugurate the museum.
“The new Manjusha Museum will be open for public from November 15. The entrance fee will be Rs 10, while it will be free for children below 12 years of age,” he said.
The museum, a brainchild of Dr Heggade has been built at a cost of Rs 3 crore. Nearly 60 per cent of Heggade’s antique collections of 26,000 articles will be showcased at the museum.
