CM Yediyurappa to conduct aerial survey of 5 flood-affected districts of N Karnataka

Bengaluru: Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, will be conducting an aerial survey of five flood-affected districts in northern Karnataka. The CM has already reached Belgaum and will be assessing the extent of the damage caused by the floods.
The CM, speaking to reporters in Bengaluru before leaving for Belagavi said: “I will conduct the survey of flood-affected areas in northern Karnataka and meet with the authorities there. We will take appropriate relief actions after assessing the damages caused by floods,” he said.
The State received good rains this year. Most of the reservoirs are full. Thank god that there wasn’t a big disaster caused by the floods. Due to reduced rainfall in neighbouring Maharashtra, the flood situation is under control now. Through the aerial survey, the entire situation will be reviewed. Crop and property damage will be assessed and action will be taken to provide the necessary assistance by the government,” he added.
Home Minister Basavaraja Bommai and Revenue Minister R Ashok will also be accompanying the chief minister in the survey of Belgaum, Bagalkot, Vijayapura, Dharwad and Gadag districts.
