Coal-laden truck overturns in Maroli; driver sustains injuries

Mangaluru: Traffic on National Highway 75 saw a brief disruption after a coal-laden truck overturned here on Wednesday, March 31.

The driver, who was trapped inside the vehicle was rescued by Fire and Emergency Services personnel and admitted to a nearby hospital.

Coal from the truck spilled on to the road due to the mishap and few electric poles too got damaged. Later, the truck was removed off the road by using a crane.

The driver was suspectedly driving the truck under influence of alcohol stated sources.
