Moodbidri: International artist from Moodbidri, Manjunath Kamath’s artworks on the themes of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ series caught the attention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Kamath was one of the 13 artists from across the nation who were invited to produce artworks inspired by the highlights of the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program to mark the airing of the 100th episode.
The curated artworks were displayed at the “Jana Shakti: A Collective Power” exhibition held at the National Gallery of Modern Arts in Delhi. The project was undertaken by the Union Ministry of Culture. Dimensions such as cleanliness, water conservation, agriculture, space, women empowerment, yoga, Ayurveda, etc. were some of the themes suggested for the artworks.
Prime Minister had visited the exhibition on May 14 and interacted with the artists and sought to know the inspirations as well as the intricacies of the displayed artworks.
Manjunath Kamath said that his artwork was on the concept of ‘Vasudhaiva Kudumbakam’. PM Modi keenly inspected the different elements of the painting, such as the round globe, eclipses, universal supreme being, and India being Vishwaguru, Kamath said.
Manjunath Kamath is the son of Pundalika Kamath-Prafullah couple of Bantwal.
