Bengaluru: Younger member of lesbian couple reportedly fired by her company after media reported her marriage with another lady in Bengaluru recently. For first time in the history of Bengaluru, two ladies married at a temple in the city which attracted media attention in the state capital.
Human Resource Manager of the company where the younger member of the couple worked, asked the lady to leave the company immediately. However, reacting to the move of the company, the elder member of same sex couple blamed the media for highlighting their story and said media reports directly caused to lose her partner’s job.
Elder member of the couple also alleged that the reports published on their marriage are wrong. She claimed that they have been staying together in the city but haven’t yet married as highlighted by the media.
Meanwhile, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) community members objected the move of the company and said life style chosen by the couple is their private matter and the company shouldn’t have fired the lady. The company has nothing to do with the life of the couple as their private life wouldn’t affect her professional life, they added.
