Mangaluru: In the backdrop of two children having lost their lives after being killed by a compound wall which collapsed on the house they were living in at Shivanagar in Padil, the Dakshina Kannada district administration has disbursed compensation of Ra 10 lakh to the parents of the two kids.
The compensation amount was handed over to Rajani, mother of the children, through cheque by Mangaluru south MLA Vedavyas Kamath, after he paid visit to the house on Monday Sep 9th. Besides, the MLA also gave a compensation of Rs 1 lakh to the family through his Sevanjali Trust.
The two victims, Varshini (9) and Vedanth (7), children of Ramachandra and Rajani couple were studying inside the house in preparation for the class test scheduled for Monday when the incident took place.
