Mangaluru: ‘Pumpwell Balle’ trolls targeting Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel over the very recent January 1 deadline given for the opening the Pumpwell flyover to traffic has been trending on social media.
The work on the flyover has literally progressed at snail’s pace and though the MP had set January 1 deadline for the inauguration it will take another two-three months atleast for the project completion. Since the commencement of the project way back in September 2010, as many as eight deadlines have been missed.
On Tuesday, December 31 former minister B Ramanath Rai, MLC Ivan D’Souza, former MLA J R Lobo and other district leaders of Congress visited the flyover site. Speaking to media persons here MLC Ivan D’Souza slammed Nalin Kumar Kateel for the false assurances given by him on completion of the flyover.
“Kateel assured of opening the Pumpwell flyover for traffic in first week of January However the work is far from complete and officials at the site said that they would require another three months for completing the project. Congress will stage a protest here on January 1 at 4 pm to condemn Nalin’s lethargic attitude,” said Ivan.
