Senior Congress leader BK Hariprasad on Saturday indicated that DK Shivakumar is on the verge of becoming the Chief Minister.
Hariprasad said that only seven individuals are aware of the power-sharing decision, including AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, KC Venugopal, and Surjewala.
BK Hariprasad said, “I believe Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is responsible for my loss of a ministerial post. However, I want to emphasize that DK Shivakumar is the ideal candidate for the Chief Minister position. I have never actively sought a ministerial role. In fact, I have been involved in cabinet formation in five states alongside the Chief Minister.”
He also dismissed rumors circulating on social media regarding his resignation from the Parishad, clarifying, “Unless I am appointed to a ministerial position, I will continue serving as an ordinary member.”
He further highlighted the support garnered from the Okkaliga community for DK Shivakumar’s potential rise to the Chief Minister role, leading to a decline in JD(S) support.
“I firmly believe in social justice and the inclusive principles of the party. I am committed to the Congress party and will openly address all relevant aspects when the time is right,” he added.
