Bengaluru: Vijayanagara MLA Anand Singh on Monday resigned from his assembly membership. However, Legislative Assembly Speaker Ramesh Kumar denied any knowledge on MLA Anand Singh’s resignation, saying he has not received any resignation letter from the MLA’s side.
Addressing presspersons he said, “I have nothing to do with the resignation of any Congress or BJP MLA.”
If certain sources are to be believed, 7 other rebel MLAs are also likely to resign following Anand’s resignation.
Anand Singh had met BJP leaders before tendering his resignation, informed sources.
Meanwhile, state BJP president B S Yeddyurappa has called for a media briefing at Vidhana Soudha.
It may be recalled that Anand had expressed his disappointment over the HD Kumaraswamy led Congress-JD(S) coalition government favouring selling of land to Jindal company (JSW).
