Bengaluru: Congress leaders from Tumkuru have voiced their dissent at the party decision of ceding the Lok Sabha seat to its coalition partner JDS despite an earlier decision to consider giving ticket to all the sitting Congress MPs.
The seat-sharing deal finalised between the alliance partners, on Wednesday, came as a shocker to the incumbent Tumkuru MP S P Muddahanume Gowda, who is the lone Congress MP to miss out on the party’s list of nominees. Following the news, Gowda is said to have held talks with state Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara and veteran leader M Mallikarjun Kharge and urged them to talk to Central leaders to reconsider their decision.
Kharge is learnt to have told his partymen that he would discuss the issue with the high command.
