Mangaluru: The Muslim Central Committee, on Wednesday, has decided to urge the Congress to pitch a Muslim candidate from Dakshina Kannada parliamentary constituency in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
The decision was taken at a meeting, held at the mini hall of the town hall here and presided over by the president of Central Committee, M S Mohammed Masood. It was also decided to constitute an action committee to submit a memorandum to the Congress.
Addressing the gathering Masood said that the Congress can take a call on their request and convey their decision before November 30. In case the Congress did not declare a ticket to a Muslim candidate by next month the committee would meet again on December 15 to decide their next course of action, he said.
