Bengaluru: Congress party has finalised names of six candidates for the three vacant nominated member seats to state Legislative Council.
The names were finalised on Monday night following a meeting between AICC general secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. Surjewala is said to have consulted DK Shivkumar separately before finalizing the names of candidates.
Former minister MR Sitaram, former House Speaker Umashree, former MLCs Dr BL Shankar and Ivan D’Souza, Tirthahalli Congress ticket aspirant Manjunath Gowda and music director Sadhu Kokila have been shortlisted for the 3 vacant nominated seats.
Apart from them, the names of former CM Jagadish Shettar, Minister Bosaraju, and former Minister Baburao Chinchanasuru have been finalized for the by-elections to the Legislative Council from the Legislative Assembly Constituency.
Another meeting is likely to be held in Delhi whereafter the final list is likely to be released on June 17 or 18 after
