‘Congress government is mired in corruption’: BJP holds protests in DK and Udupi

Mangaluru / Udupi: BJP held protests in Mangaluru and Udupi on October 16, alleging widespread corruption within the Congress government in the state.
In Mangaluru, MLA of Mangaluru City South Vedavyas Kamath asserted that crores of rupees were discovered in the homes of Congress members, exposing their alleged involvement in a commission scam. He emphasized that Congress members, who had previously made unverified allegations during BJP’s rule, are now being apprehended with evidence.
Meanwhile, in Udupi, District President Kuilady Suresh Nayak decried the Congress government’s legacy of corruption, citing instances such as alleged bribery during the Mysuru Dasara festival and the discovery of “illegal funds in Bengaluru linked to Congress leaders”.
Nayak expressed concern over the scale of corruption and indicated a forthcoming electoral rebuke for the Congress.
Both protests saw notable participants including BJP district president Sudharshan Moodbidire, Mangaluru Mayor Sudheer Shetty Kannur, former member of Legislative Council Monappa Bhandary, former MLA K. Raghupathi Bhat, Mattaru Ratnakar Hegde, and various other leaders and activists.
