Mangaluru: “Fearing defeat and poor support in the district in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Congress is engaged in spreading false allegations, fake news in electronic and digital media. Congress is again trying to create communal frenzy in the district and dreams that it will win the election by polarization. BJPs district legal condemns this and will go ahead with legal action,” said K Shambhu Sharma, convener of district BJP legal cell, addressing a press meet here at party office on March 30.
“Using a satellite news channel, Congress is trying to spread bad impression among the voters and communities. They are spreading fake news that the BJP candidate Nalin Kumar Kateel is using Ajith Kumar Rai Maladi’s name for electoral gains and seeking votes in the name of religion. This allegation is completely baseless and Ajith Kumar himself has given the clarification and filed a complaint against those who misused his name. BJP’s legal cell is taking this matter very seriously and will file legal suite against those who spread false news,” he said.
“The news broadcast in a private news channel is completely false and there is no logic in this news. Nalin Kumar Kateel never tried to woo voters in the name of caste and community. He is against divide and rule politics. But the Congress which always speaks about secularism is now engaged in caste-based politics. It is dividing voters in the name of religion. It shows their fear of defeat in the election. It is our request to indulge in positive politics and face the election in the name of development and pro-people agenda,” he added.
