Congress plans rotation of ministers after 2 years

Bengaluru: Congress ministers in the coalition government will be replaced with new faces following two years and non-performers will be dropped based on assessment at regular intervals of six months. 

The Congress has thought of a turn intend to keep its ministers on their toes and convey a message they may need to clear a path for others holding up in line. 

AICC general secretary responsible for Karnataka, KC Venugopal, told the media on Thursday the high summon had arranged a three-point formula on the acceptance of ministers and their continuity. “This is not the final cabinet. The ministers’ tenure is on a two-year rotation.”

KPCC working president Dinesh Gundu Rao said when the reshuffle occurs following two years, the new ministers will have a three-year tenure. 

Party leaders who missed the cabinet bus have charged Venugopal and KPCC Chief G Parameshwara of failing to settle on the correct decisions. “I concur the party has numerous qualified members. Before to the finalizing the names, I met each MLA to take their perspectives. There are numerous who can possibly progress toward becoming ministers, and that’s the reason to introduce the rotation system,” Venugopal said.

The party high summon is taking a diminish perspective of the difference by ministerial competitors, party sources said. “We are seeing to what level they will take it. The individuals who are talking against the leadership won’t be considered for berths in future,” a source said.
