Congress questions the guarantee of the BJP’s promises in the manifesto

Bengaluru: The Congress has expressed its doubt over the BJP’s election manifesto, released by BJP State President B.S. Yeddyurappa, through Karnataka Pradesh congress Committee President G. Parameshwara. He called the promises made by the manifesto as just “another jumla”. He pointed out that the BJP had promised to waive the agricultural loans of farmers from nationalised and commercial banks, but had failed to do so while they were in power.
He said that Yeddyurappa, who was the Chief Minister in that period, had commented that he did not have not-printing machines required to grant the benefit to farmers who were crushed by the drought. He also brought in the BJP Government in the Centre and said that there were at least 10 major election promises made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his election, which have still not been fulfilled.
He also reminded the PM of his refusal of the CM’s demand for waiving of Rs 45,000 crore of agricultural loans taken by the farmers. He said the BJP Government just made promises of doubling the income of farmers, but there was no prospect of any action being taken. The increasing suicide of farmers and their pathetic state while living is the only reality.
