Haveri: Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said on Saturday the Congress remembers minorities only when elections are around.
He was speaking at the public meeting that was held at Chikanshi Hosur village of Hanagal taluk on Saturday.
Bommai said, “Congress is at the mercy of minority votes to win elections. But they remember them only during elections. They have pushed them into a well, whenever there is an election, they throw them a rope, but pull it back once the elections are over.”
“They say that they are the protectors of minorities, whereas it is the minorities who are protecting Congress as they are in danger of becoming extinct,” he added.
He also challenged veteran Congress leader Siddaramaiah to visit the villages in Hanagal assembly constituency to see the development there before inviting him for a debate on a public platform.
