Mangaluru: The Congress party on Monday, November 5 suspended 19 office-bearers, including Dakshina Kannada youth Congress President Mithun Rai from their positions reportedly for being inactive in the party.

Arun Kumar, Kiran R, Nasir Khan Pathan, Praveen Patil, Sandeep Naik are among those who have been suspended.

The disclplinary action was taken against these office-bearers as they haven’t participated in the party activities in the recent past, informed Ravindra Das, general secretary of Youth Congress.

It is gathered that the decision to suspend Rai was taken after he excused himself from attending a part meeting during the current festive season. However once Rai replies to the notice the suspension could be revoked, informed a source.
