Bengaluru: A 28 year old man was hacked to death in broad day light in Bannerghatta police station limits on Friday. The victim is said to be a congress party worker and had criminal cases against him. It is said that the victim was once a pickpocket.

The deceased is identified as Satish Reddy alias Kalkere Satish. The police are suspicious of known people murdering him.

Satish Reddy was riding a bike near Bingipura were he was stopped and attacked by a group of men. Reddy tried to escape but was chased and murdered.

The public spotted Reddy running and falling in a pool of blood. When they rushed to help him he had died on spot.

Sources revealed that the accused were four in number and had come in two bikes. Reddy himself had criminal records and has also been in jail several times. He was also imprisoned in Parappana Agrahara Central Prison. He was a car cleaner by profession.

Reason behind the murder is said to be an old rivalry. According to Reddy’s father in law, the murderers might be his own family members as Reddy had a grudge against his brother. Reddy’s parents were fed up with his criminal activities and had sent him out of the house.

The Bannerghatta police have registered a case of murder. Further investigations are still in progress.
