Congress youth activist beaten seriously by relatives of MLA Raju Kage in Belagavi

Belgavi: Close relatives of Belgavi Kagwad BJP MLA Raju Kage assaulted a youth Vivek Shetty, a congress party activist and his mother Ujwala Shetty on January 1, 2017 at their residence in Ugarkhurd of Belgavi district for alleged derogatory message sent by Vivek Shetty to MLA’s daughter, the sources said.

A group of 11 persons including MLA’s daughter and brother had beaten both Vivek Shetty and his mother Ujwala Shetty severely. Vivek Shetty’s leg bone and hand have been fractured seriously. Both son and mother have been admitted to Miraj hospital at Sangli in Maharashtra soon after the incident. The incident has been recorded in the CCTV camera and a police team is obtaining further information from the injured for further investigation.

The incident came into light after more than a week on Monday as the members of the victim’s family said that they were feared about the consequences they may face in the near future if they file a police complaint against MLA’s relatives. 

The victim has said to the media reporters that, he didn’t send any message to the MLA’s daughter instead he commented on the problems faced by the people in the constituency of the MLA. He further added that, he was beaten for political purpose as he is an influential youth leader in the area. Responding to the incident the MLA Raju Kage said, he doesn’t has any information on incident.
