Congressmen attack JD(S) workers, 3 injured

Magadi: Three JD(S) leaders including a Magadi Town Municipal Council member were severely injured after the Congress party workers brutally attacked them on Wednesday. According to the police some remarks on Whastapp messages was the reason for the attack.
The incident took place at around 1:30 am when the JD(S) leaders were on their way back after watching a play. The injured leaders have been identified as K V Balaraghu, Hosahalli Muniraju and Javaregowda. They were taken to KIMS hospital in Bengaluru after the attack and are said to be in serious condition.
The suspects are H J Purushottam, B P Manjunath, Kiran and Narasimha Murthy. They had an argument over Whatsapp messages where the JD(S) leaders had personally abused the Congress workers. The arguement turned violent when the Congressmen started assaulting the JD(S) leaders. ZP member A Manjunath rushed to the spot and shifted them to the hospital after getting information about the assault.
Meanwhile, Arya Vaishya Mandali members closed down shops as a mark of protest against the attack on Balaraghu and took out a procession in the town on Wednesday. Mandali president S G Ramesh demanded action against the attackers of Arya Vaishya community leader Balaraghu.
Both, JD(S) leaders and Congress party workers have lodged complaints and counter complaints with the Magadi Police. Four cases have been registered in connection with the incident.
