Bengaluru: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday accused the Congress MLAs in Karnataka of committing serious economic offence and asked Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to take cognizance of such matters.
BJP leader S. Prakash, who was reacting to the Income Tax department’s claim of detecting undisclosed income to the tune of around Rs. 120 crore from a Congress MLA, demanded that incidents such as these must be thoroughly investigated and all ill-gotten wealth should be confiscated.
“Hope Chief Minister Siddaramaiah takes serious note of irregularities his legislators are committing in the state,” he said.
Prakash also accused many Congress MLAs of accumulating mass wealth and black money by indulging in real estate business.
“One more ruling party MLA is caught with 100 of crores, unaccounted wealth by the Income Tax department. These MLAs work very closely with the Chief Minister. It is believed that these MLAs are also into many real estate businesses where they are generating hundreds of crores of black money,” he said.
