Bengaluru: BBMP Mayor Sampath Raj honoured Constable Archana by presenting her a shawl and a sari on Saturday, June 23 and expressed that he would recommend her name for the Kempe Gowda Award.

“I have put in a word to the chief minister and the deputy chief minister,” he said.

It might be reviewed that Archana won a few hearts with her humanitarian act of breastfeeding an abandoned infant that was found near to an under constructed building in Celebrity Layout, Doddathogoor on outskirts of Bengaluru city. Her kind act was even appreciated by chief minister HD Kumaraswamy.

However, the infant who was named as Kumaraswamy passed away a couple of days after the incident due to brain infection.
