Controversy Erupts in Mysuru after Group of People Consume Beef in Govt Hall

Mysuru: In an another beef row, a group of people took beef made food items at state government owned public hall, Karnataka Kalamandira in Mysuru city on Sunday and the matter turned controversial after Kalamandira officials face criticism from general public and BJP activists on Monday morning.

Speaking on the issue, Mysuru Deputy Commissioner D. Randeep and officials at Kalamandira said, an inquiry would be conducted on the issue soon as distribution of food made by meat is banned at government run halls like Kalamandira. 

A group of people including writer, KS Bhagawan, a former Mysore City Corporation (MCC) Mayor, former Mysore University professor Mahesh Guru  and others took beef made food at an inaugural session of a seminar programme organised by, Charvaka Samsthe on Sunday. BJP workers protested against the move of the organisers on Monday and cleaned the spot by Hindu traditional method where beef was served. Police personnel have been deployed at the premises of Kalamandira to prevent any unpleasant incident.
