Cops arrest notorious thief in connection with Uppinangady robbery case

Puttur: Police officials have arrested notorious thief, Hameed alias Kunhimonu (46) in connection with Uppinangady robbery case

Hameed, resident of Padangady in Beltangady taluk is accused of robbing a shop and a bar located on the National Highway 75, Uppinangady on December 11, 2020

Hameed is a notorious criminal who is wanted in several cases of thefts registered at about 15 police stations. Cops have also arrested his accomplice, Farooq in connection with a robbery case in Bantwal. They also used to steal CCTV cameras from the theft spots and throw them into the river to destroy evidence

It is said that on December 11, Hameed and Farroq initially broke into the grocery shop, stole money, and later entered Ullas Bar from the backdoor where they stole money from the cash counter.
