Cops cast their votes amidst duty

Kundapur: The District SP has made arrangements for 40 police personnel who are on election duty in Dharwad to cast their votes in Byndoor Assembly constituency.

40 police personnel from Byndoor Assembly constituency were appointed on election duty to Dharwad. The personnel informed DSP Nisha James of their inability to cast their votes during the voting for Shimoga Lok Sabha constituency.

The SP acted immediately and reassigned the 40 personnel to provide security to the strong room at Udupi. The personnel were also given the opportunity to cast their vote on the basis of Election Duty Certificate (EDC) on the voting day. Senior police officials have expressed happiness in concern to the action.
