Cops helpless as revelers molest women on New Year’s Eve in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: As Bengalureans gathered to welcome the New Year, they were unaware of the anarchy they would have to go through on Saturday night.

As several families and friends gathered at the heart of the state capital on MG Road and Brigade Road, several revelers converged on the venue and began molesting women while children were scared to death. The irony – all this happened as 1,500 police officials looked on.

The police initially claimed that they had made elaborate security arrangements and had ensured an ‘incident-free’ New Year, but it seemed that they underestimated the mob. None of the security arrangements were able to subdue the chaos that broke out on the streets as the mob outnumbered the police.

However, the police claim that they have not registered any complaint of molestation or harassment.
