Mangaluru: The Central Crime Branch (CCB) officers from Bengaluru reportedly open fired at four persons, who were involved in several robberies and then arrested them.
The CCB police had arrived in the city after learing that the four notorious robbers involved in inter-state robberies were holed up in Derlakatte.
The police acting on a tip-off zeroed in on the four robbers, but when they tried to escape, the police opened fire at them and then took them into their custody.
As per the sources, the robbers, in order to hide their identity had joined as labourers at a fish-meal factory in Harekala. However the City police were not aware of the developments.
