Cops take action against hospital over a lady’s suicide

Bengaluru: The C K Acchukattu police have taken anaction against a private hospital in Padmanabhanagar for not informing them about a death of lady on arrival.

A staff from Yogananda Hospital disclosed to media that the lady’s body was checked by a doctor inside an auto-rickshaw in which she was brought. The doctor asked the lady’s husband, Vijay Kiran to take the body to another hospital.

But, he took his wife’s body back to his home where he held up the body until before informing his neighbours.

According to a senior police officer, “No hospital can return a body after declaring it brought dead or dead on arrival just by inspecting it outside the hospital and without specifying it in any records,”

On Monday morning, Tulasi’s body was moved to Victoria Hospital for a post moterm and Kiran was under inquiry by the police.

Kiran is a software engineer in an IT firm. The couple was hitched for a four years and have a 3-year-old daughter. They are natives of Repalle in Guntur. The couple had moved into a house in Bhuvaneshwari Nagar around a half year back and used to often fight.

On Sunday night, after an argument, Tulasi hanged herself after Kiran walked out of the house in anger. After coming back home, Kiran called out for his wife but there was no response. He peeped in from a window and saw her hanging from the ceiling. Kiran broke the door open and took her in an auto rickshaw to the hospital.

Tulasi’s dad Koutharapu Shivaramakrishna expressed that nobody was responsible of his daughter’s death, including Kiran. Tulasi’s body was given over to the family after autopsy on Monday eveni
