Mangaluru: As the night corona curfew, announced by state government comes into effect from today, Police Commissioner Shashi Kumar issued guidelines to be followed by the public.

A night curfew, between 10 pm to 5 am every day, from April 10 to 20 has been imposed in eight districts of Karnataka, including Mangaluru.

As per the guidelines released by Shashi Kumar, factories, companies, and organizations that have night shifts can continue to function, but employees have to report at the workplace before 10 pm and should not roam outside during the curfew period.

“We have set up 45 check posts in the districts. Vehicles of those roaming unnecessarily during curfew will be seized,” said Shashi Kumar.

“Strict action will be taken against corona curfew violators,” he added.

The term ‘Corona curfew’ was coined for more awareness to the people, as mentioned by the Prime Minister in a meeting with Chief Ministers.
