Coronavirus: More than 8k have undergone thermal scanning at MIA, NMP

Mangaluru: More than 7000 people who arrived at Mangalore International Airport (MIA) and more than 1000 people who arrived at the New Mangalore Port (NMP) in the past few days have undergone thermal screenings for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), a taluk health official informed.

Immediately after the reporting of a case from neighbouring Kerala, the district health officials have been actively monitoring all entry points in the bordering district.

The health official further informed that few ships are scheduled to arrive at the port and all precautionary measures to check the ship’s passengers and crew are ready.
