Mangaluru: All the international passengers arriving at Mangaluru Aiport are screened for Covid-19 symptoms and stamping of the passengers are also done in order to identify the passengers who need to be quarantined.
This is a precautionary measure taken to control the spread of Coronavirus in the district.
Passengers arriving at the airport are classified into 3 categories based on their health conditions. All the passengers who are above 65 years with high BP, asthma, diabetes and have the symptoms of Covid-19 belong to ‘A’ category and they are sent to Wenlock Hospital or private hospital to be quarantined. Passengers who are symptomatic belong to ‘B’ category and are sent to ESI hospital in the city to be quarantined. Those who have no symptoms belong to ‘C’ category and will be allowed to be home quarantined.
Each passenger is being stamped above their knuckles with indelible ink so that people cannot wash off the stamp
