Couple fall off cliff at Nandi Hills- wife dies, husband survives

Bengaluru: An excursion to Nandi Hills turned deadly when a lady and her husband tumbled off the cliff-side of Nandi hills on May 1. The Husband survived the mishap while his wife breathed her last. Her body was discovered 350 ft beneath around 21 hours after the incident. 

The couple, M Kumar (53) and J Sunita (50) from Hassan, were in Bengaluru going to their relatives. On Tuesday, the couple chose to travel to the picturesque slopes of Nandi hills around 60 kms from the city. 

The couple sat close to a rough place behind Mayura Hotel late at night. At the point when Sunita rose to leave with her husband, one of her shoes got free from her foot and as she bent down to recover it, she lost her balance and slipped. As she fell, she let out a frightened shout. Kumar tried to save her and managed to grasp her arm at the same time, he excessively lost control and they both tumbled into seperate canyons. Kumar got captured amongst rocks and sustained head injuries bringing about him losing conscious. Upon regaining his senses, Kumar made his way back to the hotel and informed the staff about the incident, who immediately informed the police at the Nandi Hills outpost.

Police utilized a drone camera from Chikkaballapura on the morning of May 2 and found Sunita’s dead body by 4 am. landed among the shrubs near Muneshwara temple.
