Couple spread ‘say no to plastic’ message on wedding day

Mangaluru: Setting an example for other a couple from Mangaluru chose eco-friendly Areca Nut boxes to distribute sweets on their wedding day and pledging their support to Plastic Free Mangaluru initiative.
The couple – Neha and Vinayak – tied the nuptial knot at Sanghaniketan in the city on December 12. The message on the box read: “Say no to Plastic, save planet earth.”
MLA Vedavyas Kamath who has been vocal on social media trying to create awareness on plastic pollution in the city took to Twitter to laud the young couple.
“Wedding day sweets are usually offered in Plastic Boxes, This couple implemented #PlasticFreeMangalore on their wedding by offering sweets in ArecaNut boxes which is eco friendly. #PlasticFreeKudla is gaining pace. May god bless the couple,” he tweeted.
